Please join us for our Parent Education night called "Dot to Dot Montessori"
We want to help you connect the dots in Practical Life:
- How do children learn to concentrate and focus on complex materials?
- How can 24 students work at their own pace, independently?
- How do we teach children to not give up?
- And why is my Teacher so focused on my child learning to wash a table?
In this class, we'll be exploring these questions through Montessori materials, guides and philosophies. We'll focus on how we begin practical life skills in the toddler community. Then we'll give lessons and explanations on how the primary students use these skills to prepare them for complex work later in that community. We'll finish up the class with our elementary teacher continuing lessons on practical life, even through grade 6. She'll show us how all of our environments are connected on this thread of independence and the joy of learning in a Montessori community.
This is a unique opportunity to see the process our smallest to tallest students engage in when exploring the fun and excitement of caring for themselves and others.
After an optional, light breakfast you will go to the Elementary classroom to watch and learn. Every interested parent gets to be on the receiving end of a lesson!
