Holiday Tips While At Home With Family

As we near the start of the holiday break at LMS, we ask that you continue employing your social commitment to our school and community while at home with your family. To begin, please follow these low-risk Montessori school holiday tips:

  • Include your children every day! How about creating homemade decorations, cards, letters, and gifts together? Or hosting a virtual ‘game day’ with friends and family?
  • Host a dinner with only people living in your immediate household
  • Host a virtual, fancy over-the-top dinner and share all recipes
  • Shop online rather than in person
  • Host a watch party featuring sports events, parades, or movies from home with your family.

San Diego County is following the California Department of Public Health requirements by encouraging all individuals to avoid unnecessary travel. As such, the state has issued holiday tips via a travel advisory.

All persons arriving in California from other states or countries--including returning California residents--should practice self-quarantine for 14 days after arrival and limit all interactions to their immediate households.

So, if you decide to travel this holiday, please be responsible and ever-vigilant. Your decision to travel will impact every classmate, teacher, and family at LMS.

It’s hard not to travel over the holidays to visit family or hunker down at a vacation spot.

Still, it requires little effort to stay at home with family! This is for everyone’s protection--your family and our extended Lifetime Montessori School families.

As we’ve seen, 2020 has been a year of change. As a result, we’ve sought ways to make our changes. So, let’s continue to shake it up!

Although we have been forced to create new ways to do routine activities for the sake of our health and the health of those we love, this holiday allows us to make new memories and start new traditions.

We hope these Holiday tips are helpful to you and your family. Thank you for partnering with us and creating a positive change for our children while we spend the holidays in the comfort of your home.
